Great bar to go watch games, especially border war games. I'm a KU fan and typically don't associate with MU fans but it was a fun/competitive atmosphere without idiots to ruin it for everyone. $1 Rolling Rock cans on Saturday's and $2 frosty mugs of Bud every day of the week. Would have given it 5 stars but the bartender was a Mizzou fan!

My favorite sports bar in Lawrence! We go there to watch KSU games without getting hassled for being in Lawrence with purple on! Its a great atmosphere and great food.

Friendly little neighborhood bar. Biker friendly, cold beer, good service. The kitchen turns out very good meals that are way better than your typical "bar food". Open deck on the back for the smokers. They still have a shuffleboard table , you don't see then much any more.

If you're from the Dotte, you will run into someone you know, regardless of how long you've been gone, and it will seem like no time has passed. That's the nice part. If you are put off by junior high-type girl fights because some girl thinks some other girl looked at her man, you will want to stay away. (but you won't get this show in Johnson County! ) Lots of KCKPD and FD peeps hang out here, as well as a bit o riff raff. The beer selection is terrible if you want anything other than domestic weakness. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Dark, brown, cracked vinyl that was probably here when I lived down the street 35 years ago. I would put Johnnie's West on any WyCo bar crawl. You'll get to see an accurate glimpse of KCK in here.

What follows is a pro/con list assembled by local regulars. Pros: bikers welcome, boons farm (multi-favors) by the bottle, right down the street (location location location), your lady will be the hottest piece in the bar, cigarette machine on site, best shuffle board in town, liquor store next door, you might see a man and woman in a fight, really cheap drinks, easy women (if there are any there), now incredible, still incredible, staff is vary accommodating of ignorance Cons: biker welcome, you will be bit by misquotes inside (in the summer), your lady will be the hottest piece in the bar, bartenders hate customers (paying or not), you might see a man and women in a fight, lots of low IQs, there is not much of an atrium/foyer, you will hear buck cherry and/or nicklback, if you find your way to the bathroom watch your back, cons (and ex-cons), only 4 pitchers on site so hurry up with that, eat at own risk, if you're articulate and well dressed you may/will be assaulted and/or be called a faggot by staff (racing singlets are preferred),

Best neighborhood bar in the dotte.. Please people...stop reviewing what you dont understand.. Go to power and light if you're looking for a synthetic, bullshit meat market...or sports bar....go to the blue moose or wherever you feel comfortable..lol Real people come to johnnies. If you had problems here, its probably because you suck... no...its almost definitely because you suck. We dont need you. Im not a biker, but I've never had a problem...makes me wonder why anyone did.this isnt just a biker bar...at all....ALL walks of life come to this little place...and do well...and have fun.. blue collar, white collar...and no snobbery.. If you have any roots in this town, you'll almost certainly run into someone you used to know or who knows your dad..lol "Dont be a dick" is the guiding principle here... You'll have fun....and so will your girlfriend... The food specials are always better than average bar food...really. The locals are friendly and easily warm to any newcomer that isnt an asshole...lol Every bartender is the shit and makes it easy on new customers... All women are crazy, so dont blame that on Johnnies.. A very easy, safe, low-brow place. Anyone looking for good, dive-bar times... WELCOME!

Upon entering the door you automatically feel unwelcome. Staff is generally nice more so if you already know who is working. The general type of people that hangout here are immature people that blurt out racist, discriminating, and very offensive remarks. Which in turn there are a lot of random fights happening at any given night. This is not a friendly bar at all what so ever. My advise is to stay clear.
